AQUISITION SERVICES

RWA staff members have acquired rights-of-way and sites for public facilities for a wide variety of projects, which vary in size from single parcel assignments to acquisition of property and rights from 300+ property owners affected by one urban renewal project. All, or a portion of the initial contacts (liaison), appraisal, appraisal review, and acquisition negotiation services were provided or coordinated in these projects.

In addition to our clients in the Portland / Vancouver metropolitan area, RWA has significant experience providing acquisition services throughout Oregon and Washington. From our office in Beaverton, we have appraised, conducted negotiations, and / or provided relocation services for both residential and business owners and tenants in the cities of Hermiston, Pendleton, Bend, Coos Bay, Roseburg, Hood River, Dallesport, St. Helens, Stanfield, Vernonia, Lincoln City and Waldport. We have developed checklists and procedures that maximize the effective use of staff time spent onsite at the project. The experience gained while providing services throughout Oregon and portions of Washington gives us the skills for planning ahead, avoiding time loss and excessive costs, as well as realizing project efficiencies.

Key personnel have extensive experience managing and providing services for acquisition projects. The firm has procedures and systems in place to develop a work plan, organize tasks, and identify critical actions needed to meet time lines, provide status reports, and to monitor budgets. All of our technical people are proficient at more than one discipline and function closely as a team. This enables the firm to quickly respond to changing project requirements as well as to maintain cost effectiveness and efficiency.

Two of our technical staff members possess 30+ years experience, each in the public acquisition field. One has 10 years experience. All have worked extensively within the legal and administrative requirements of the public acquisition process. This separates us from those with experience in real estate brokerages who list and sell properties. We focus exclusively in the provision of services described and guided by the Uniform Act and State of Oregon public acquisition practices. We have invested a significant effort to gain an understanding of municipal practices, procedures and requirements. We are successful at integrating our services with the decision-making stream, so that we can function nearly as members of client staff.
